TOADSTOOL ON A STUMP
I am always amazed at how living things can pop up where you least expect them. Today, I found this toadstool growing out of a dead tree stump in my front yard. When I was young and living in Massachusetts, my twin sister and I would hunt for what we liked to call toadstools (sounds a lot more mystical than calling them mushrooms) in the woods. Fall was always the best time to spot them.

MACRO PHOTOGRAPHY
Macro photography is close-up photography. Here are some shots I've taken (keep in mind I'm just a beginner). It's a lot of fun and you start seeing things in a different way. Unfortunately, I do not own a macro lens for my camera so these were taken with my regular camera lens, you can still get the idea.
C IS FOR COMPANION
There is just something about a dog that make everything "right" with the world. This is Essie, my daughters favorite companion.
B IS FOR "BE DIFFERENT"
The folks up the road own a goat. For years this goat has been in the same corral as four horses. When they eat, he eats, when they sleep, he sleeps. This goat is never very far from one of his pals. I don't know, maybe he thinks he's a horse. But just maybe, he knows he's a little different and he's okay with that.
