TOADSTOOL ON A STUMP
I am always amazed at how living things can pop up where you least expect them. Today, I found this toadstool growing out of a dead tree stump in my front yard. When I was young and living in Massachusetts, my twin sister and I would hunt for what we liked to call toadstools (sounds a lot more mystical than calling them mushrooms) in the woods. Fall was always the best time to spot them.

DANCING IN THE KITCHEN
There are so many fond memories I have of my childhood and of my father. One of my favorites is when we were fixing dinner in the kitchen, my father would grab either my mom, my twin sister, or I and start dancing to a song he would sing, right there in the kitchen. When were very small he would pick us up and hold us but we had to have our cheek to his or the music and the dancing would stop until our cheek was touching his again. My father was a great dancer and loved to sing even if he was a little off key at times. When my children were really little, I used to do the same with them. Such great memories of a wonderful dad.
