As I explained in one of my post, I have been diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis and Osteo-arthritis. It is believed, by some, that a No-Starch Diet (NSD) starves the bacteria that can cause AS, thus reducing the inflammation that causes bone fusing. I have come to my own conclusion over the last few months. If eat starch, the next day I will be in a lot of pain (sometimes to the point of having to use a cane). If I am starch-free, I have little to no pain in my hips. Maybe this is purely pyschological and I have created my own placebo. Even so, I will continue to be starch-free as long as possible.
